Are you shitting me? There is a new iPod out every 2-3 moths that is "better and greater" than the last one.

Nintendo releases a DS/Portable every 2-3 YEARS. Why couldn't the iPod Nano take video/pics when it first came out? Exactly. There is no reason. The tech. was readily available at the time, but they decided to whore out the iPod for a couple more bucks, and SLOWLY add improvements, instead of waiting it out for at least 6 months and THEN adding a bunch of new great features. Why didn't the original iPhone have GPS or 3G? So they could release a new one more frequently with little-to-no extra features.

The fact that you can't remove the goddamn battery just shows you how they want you to go buy a new one instead of a $15 battery so they can rape you monetarily!

Cameras? I hate to tell you this, but you do know that some people's careers center around a camera? the reasoning is much different. Not to mention, a camera is more essential to daily life than an iPod. Also, the features are bigger, better, and more meaningful, they're not small, tiny increments. They are actually keeping up with technology.

Phones, also an area that has gone bat-shit crazy. Although, to be fair, their reasoning is different too though. They keep older phones around for people with different featural needs and price points, while Apple replaces and re-replaces all of their old products.

Why not? $250 $200 for a console seems pretty good compared to the $200 iTouch.

Count 'em up, FIVE over the last FOUR years, and they're actually meant for different price ranges. So every EIGHT months, they have a new one!

Also, every person I know who has had an iPod has had theirs break on them more than once, because they're not made well (WTF, glass screens!?). They just keep buying them because they: 1.Don't know how to work another mp3 player 2.Can't play their old iTunes music on anything else!

I was given an ipod touch 2g for christmas. It has been 9 months since I had it (and was on the market even longer) and it is still current. What is this 2-3 months BS?

So people that buy a non-apple phone don't get pissed off when a newer version comes out the day after they bought the current one. Only apple's customers.

Everyone phone manufacteurer replaces their products older than 2 generations (usually). The Apple 3G and 3GS are currently available (so what point do you have here?).

As for that crap cameras....geez. I work in .....forget it.

WTH!! I don't get that table in the OP. I'm assuming a low score is the better score because MS at 6th has the highest score. On that basis Sony & Toyota 1st =, Apple 3rd, then Nokia, Google and lastly Microsoft. The only company that table has in the right position according to the numbers is Microsoft.

also, the iPhone is a phone...not a handheld console, many phones have games, iPod's have games, we don't count them, we count specially designed handheld consoles...

If you know anything about how businesses operate, any company would do exactly what Apple does if they were capable of it. The reason other companies don't do it is because they lack the capability to do so, not for lack of trying, but lack of talent and execution.

They are able to design and market products that consumers are willing to pay a premium for.
