Whether or not FF15 is on the Wii or not is likely already decided. They're probably already working on it.
Though having some of the lowest sales in japan for post SNES FF for the most expensive FF ever would be bad.

Well, I didn't know their teams were that striclty divided between projects. How do u know that FF7 is on FF13 and the FF12 is making FF15? (isnt FF7 team the far better one btw?)

I don't know about XV, but it's likely that this team is working on the next FF. Sadly S-E doesn't want to give franchises like Chrono, Vagrant Story or a real Mana game, a new change, and all they do is releasing FF related title's.
Kitase is the producer of FFXIII, and most of the key people on this one worked on VII, VII, X and X-2
S-E teams:
| Production team | Headed by | Notable game series |
|---|---|---|
| Square | ||
| 1 | Yoshinori Kitase | Final Fantasy |
| 2 | Akitoshi Kawazu | Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles |
| 3 | Hiromichi Tanaka | Final Fantasy |
| 4 | Yasumi Matsuno | Final Fantasy |
| 5 | Yusuke Hirata | All Star Pro-Wrestling |
| 6 | Toshiro Tsuchida | Front Mission |
| 7 | Takashi Tokita | Hanjuku Hero |
| 8 | Koichi Ishii | Mana |
| Enix | ||
| 9 | Ari Miyake | Dragon Quest |
| 10 | Yosuke Saito | Tri-Ace-developed games |

Se wouldn't put the next main Dragon Quest entry on a handheld either.
O wait.... |
There is some differnce.
Dragon Quest is about classic oldschool RPG fun.
Final Fantasy is about looking cool.
Putting FF on a handheld would be... tough. They'd have to start writing good stories again.

Hire back Matsuno and give him free reign. Problem solved.
even if it does sell at least 1.5m LTD, it's already big for me although most likely it will surpass that number and considering it's just Japan alone...

if...
the FFXIII demo can sell close to 200k the first week and push ps3 hardware to ~60k,...i'm not too worried that the release of the full game will have poor performance.

Akitoshi Kawazu and his production team worked on The Last Remnant most recently.
i really think famitsu is estimating it based on the current install base. B/c they dont no how the FFXIII bundle will have an impact over there, it may be good it may be bad we dont no. Also u forget that FFXIII is still a multiplatform game and it more than likely to sell better here in the west with the PS3/360 sales combined. You have to understand that SE is trying to focus more on the western markets now more than ever. Now dont get me wrong Japan is still important, but to me it seems to me that SE's main attention is on the west which might also explain the sales prediction that we are seeing and why they took this series multiplat in the first place

Yeah but then every villian would be an evil church.

The difference is that FFXIII will pulverize the sales of previous FF iterations in the West and with the currently shrinking Japanese gaming market that is exactly what SE needs.
They want to diversify and it will provides this, especially due to the Xbox360 release...
