Forums - Gaming - Japanese Scientists create 3D Image you can Touch

I can't post it right so here's the link.

In accordance to the thread the other day about 3D Imagery reviving arcades (about SEGA), I think it's possible if this kind of technology is included.  Just 3D images wouldn't be enough!

What kind of applications do you think this could have in the gaming world?  It would be at least a decade or two before the technology could make it to households tho, but that's just a guess.

Discuss!

BTW:Couldn't find this when I searched the site..hope it's not a repost=P

We are making progress in the field of holograms and the first thing that jumps into your mind is video games?

Wow, I mean as a man the thought crosses your mind (lol), but I didn't expect it to go to this=P

Yes, the first thing I thought of was video games. Of course it'll be used for military and blah blah. Eventually Movies, maybe. I think the best application is games or something else interactive or what's the point in it? Most applications for 3D don't really require the necessity to move or touch it, as with watching a video or movie.

Maybe 'Holodecks'??? Wouldn't that be nifty..Star Trek is coming real!

I saw a video demonstrating this tech a few months ago. Thought it'd be cool to have a holodeck style situation!
