So what's the difference between the upgrade and the full edition anyway? Aren't they the same, just that you need to verify your older version of Windows for the upgrade?

probably need a windows installed.
full version lets you boat from disc. and install even in a non windows system and multiples machines.
(just one using the license though).
this upgrade version start with vista.
and upgrade from XP needs a clean install.
worth it for some, but I want Ultimate (or better yet Ultimate Plus)

The OP mentions professional, but will that only be in the UK? The US site only shows Home Premium.
Lame. I get Windows 7 Professional for free through my university!
I'll consider it. :P
Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

That doesn't work anymore. They caught on when they saw the large numbers of people signing up.

I understand that, I was just wondering for being able to buy and install it. Like I'm just wondering how it'd verify your older version of Windows.
I wouldn't install the OS without reformatting the hard drive first :P

My university needs you to be taking at least one computer science class (possible for me, but not this semester) or apparently be a business major (no way in hell, lol) to have access to MSDNAA. Bah.

I'd like it for that, but I may get this anyhow since I haven't really used the xp mode for awhile. |
well mainly cause I want to do a clean install. I am pretty sure upgrade you need like a previous version of windows installed. I do not want to install XP then 7.
