This is probably just the first chip coming out that uses 45nm.  Consoles and movie players typically trail more expensive products like computers when new chips are coming out.  Either way, we might see a bit of a price cut if these chips are implemented, I could personally see the low-end Blu-ray players (magnavox) coming down to $60 or $75 given smaller chips and lower power reqs.

So, the chips are coming out for sampling purposes....full scale shipments should come by mid 2010....and we should see some cheaper players by 3rd quarter 2010. Heh, sorry that I forgot to mention the part where it wiill be a year or so before the consumer can take advantage of this.
