Willem why are you comparing the price of the low-end PS3 model with the high-end 360 SKU? This just doesn't make sense...

What does the high end Xbox have over the low end PS3; a larger hard drive (that can be upgraded on the PS3, a cable and headse, oh and some back compat

What does the low end PS3 have over the high end Xbox: a blu-ray player (worth alot of the total cost), wi-fi, a better proccesser, free online play for ever and it will not break

Frankly, I'd  say that the PS3 is a better deal

I never understood how microsoft always compaired the cost difference between their low end $300 core sku and the 60gb ps3, cause they always said "buy a wii60 cause its cheaper than a ps3". But thats not true if you bought a $400 pro + $250 wii = 650. I think the 40gb ps3 will do well, but it still comes down to "what game is worth $60 plus the $400 for the console". We will have to wait and see...

You're sure ?
The way I see it that the low-end PS3 only has smaller HD, but that's easily upgradable and it has a BR-player to compensate.
They both support HDMI ( PS3  1.3 instead of  XBOX 1.2 ), they both have no Backward Compatibility, both have a wireless controller.

Technically there isn't much difference

Damn, you need to tell my 360 to stop playing Xbox games if it doesn't have BC.

It must be confused because it seems to emulate Halo 2 pretty well. Maybe it's about to red ring.

We shouldn't kid ourselves this boost will last, be optimistic but not over earnest. Dissapointment lies around the corner for those of us who hope for too much. This will be good for Sony but it will take games like MGS4 and FFXIII to really make or break it.

If this is true, good going Sony. :D

Holy crap, the PS3 just outsold the Wii in PAL.

Though Rocketpig's sarcasm was much funnier, any Xbox360 with a hard drive is backward compatible with the vast majority of original xbox games...
