I know some folks on the site go way back as far as gaming goes.

I was just wondering as to this gen really.

I mean the amount of really good games out there and the amount coming out in the near future.

I could list them but as we all know one gamers poison is another gamers pleasure.

I mean we have the Wii with motion control.

Sony and MS slugging it out like 2 tired heavyweights in the 12th round.

Natal and the Sony equivalant coming on board.

Neither one willing to jump too soon as this gen is costing them a fortune.

I could go on but what do you the gamers on the site think.

We have the nintys the Xbots the Sonys but who is gaining.

Me is the answer as far as I am concerned.

I mean pick up some of todays games and I just think to myself these guys are going to push these things to the limit to become top dog.

So happy days or another console around the corner?

I give it 3 years at least before one or the other goes next gen.

No I did not, my 60gb is dead for good, but I got a 120gb slim, so much nicer than my 60gb when it comes to noise, and it barely heats up, not to mention its much smaller than I ever anticipated, and the buttons light up o-o..

Anyhow, yea I said it in 07, and the nintendo fanboys called me a ps3 nut head because I was touting a last place console.. when all I said was this gen was going to be the most historical and longest generation yet, I truely believe all consoles this gen have the potential to make it atleast 10 years.

I have yet to see a SEGA Console this gen or a SoA 2 so this gen can't be the best. But other then that it has been a very good one...

I do hope it is the longest one. there is no reason for a new system to be released in the next 2 years. I guess its the best too. last gen there was no reason to own an xbox and no reason to have a gamecube unless you absolutely had to have mario. the ps2 was pretty much it. this def has the most competition though.

I reckon there is a lot more to be knocked out of these consoles yet.
Developers are still getting there heads around there capabilities IMO.

i hope its the longest i dont want to buy new systems any soon ! (well next gen systems, buying a Psp soon)

Yeah, most likely it will last seven years at least (from X360 launch until holidays 2012).
