Looool, what's a coincidence, I was leveling up Sephiroth today too xD. I like his array of long range kick ass moves, but he seriously lacks a close range attack, you need to have a bit of distance to your opponent, especially if your against heavy melee fighters like Jecht and Cloud. My favourite Sephy move is Scintilla, since it's a block --> attack HP move, and since i'm a heavy blocker player, it works like a charm in my strategies xD

reread your own post...this is why Sephi rapes close range fighters:

he can hit them with most of his Brv moves before they get close, and when he hits, he hits hard and alot of times....rapes Brv..

and if they do get close you've got an octslash and scintill, octslash is slightly slow startup, but scintilla is there with the same amount of startup only with a block

mix these up against a human player, might work..

but in general..scintilla should rape close ranged fighters for being hasty...like me..Leon player xP

Actually, I know the serious weaknesses of Sephiroth due to the fact that i'm a Cloud user, and Level 150 Sephiroth fights are the easiest I get on DC ;)
He has long range attacks that can keep a close ranged melee at bay, but you can see his attacks coming to damn easy. I always block his attacks which allows me to get free hits with my Climhazzard if im on the ground or with Braver if im aerial :P

Scintilla as I said it's his most useful HP move, along Hell's Gate, but it only trully works when blocking a BRV attack. Well, my EX Build Cloud takes care of that, due to his Defense EX-Crush special ability ;) Just ask Stefl how fast I can get a full EX bar :P

you ARE talking about CPU playing Sephi though..
I doubt human players are as predictable..

Yeah, Lestat has the best EX-Built i've seen so far. If you're not carefull he goes in one fight about 6 times into ex^^

Believe me, some LVL 150 AI are better than human players ;) The only two people who ever gave me a run for my money online has been Stefl, his Tidus is very good, and he has awesome dodging skills, Stefl can get some wicked timings with his dodges, he gets me even in mid Braver xD and Null-Gnade, his Kefka was wicked as well, I had a hard time dodging his Forgotten Null in Kefka Tower, I got lucky because I had EX when he got me with it, lost it, and then built a full EX bar with only the damage that I took from his HP attack xD.

EX builds are insane...I'm so used to having a full EX bar sometimes..LOL

when I play characters who I don't have an EX build with it gets annoying, because I have to learn to block and dodge much better

but I will be training soon

There are some characters that are essential to have an EX build, like Cloud for his Defense EX-Crush, Sephiroth for his Heartless Angel and Gabranth, for him to actually do some HP damage :P But for my Zidane I hate to do an EX build, he gets way to jumpy and jittery when he's on EX, making it harder to time dodges and blocks. I rather have him in normal mode, bringing on the pain with his BRV ---> HP combos :P
Plus his EX burst sucks and does too little damage.

Squal needs his EX build to Brv Break every 5 secs xP

he turns into a Brv Bank...you cna get 9999 SOOO easily...he crits ALOT

and yeah...his EXBurst is also crappy as hell, while good characters like Cload hve amazing EX Bursts..

I think he's more of a Fanboy for FFII, have you seen how stupidly overpowered Firion is? I've been trying to keep away from him, because it's ridiculous to play as him.
He's got an unblockable BRV attack that drags your opponent towards you and can link easily to Double Trouble HP attack, his Weaponmaster HP attack can go through Pandaeomonium walls and has a huge range and huge cone of attack, his aerial spinning sword attack sucks you in and can be comboed to a super fast Arrowshot HP attack, and last but not least, when on EX mode, every HP attack he does heals him for the same amount xD
