Ok I got a question that needs to be answered by ya'll who played the game already.
Can you invite specific friends to play online co-op with you?
I know this was not possible in the Asian and Japanese versions but did they include this feature in the US release?
Also does it have trophies?

yes, you can play co-op with specific friends

but it can be tedious if the server is very crowded and lot of gamers are summoning blue phantoms for help

my friends and I have "secret spots" in every level where we lay the stones to reduce the chance of random summoning, but still, a lot of times we got summoned by random gamers who are running around and desperately looking for help

Wow so if what I am reading is correct. You actually find summoning stones in-game and you can use them to summon real players?

Thats amazing.

you are equipped with different stones, how it works is simply laying them on the floor, gamers on the same server will see your "sign" on the floor

blue: become a blue phantom to help other gamers (they can read your name and rating and decide whether they want to summon you for help)

black: become a black phantom to invade other gamers (they won't see your sign on the floor, but will be informed that you are invading their world)

red: (you will obtain the stone after you finish at least one round of the game): become a black phantom to play PvP (other gamers will see your sign, shown in red, on the floor, and decide whether they want to summon you to play PvP)

edit: if you die, you will become a phantom.  then you can use these stones.  you need to be in the body form to be able to summon other gamers or be invaded.  phantom who helps the summoner to beat the boss or kills the other gamers will get his body back.

It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo

Doesn't really matter. The game looks good either way. I hate all this AAA and not AAA stuff. A good game is a good game.

but what if it's a great game?

Thanks for the info.

This type of multiplayer interaction is fantastic.

It is better to die on one's feet

then live on one's knees

yea I for one can't wait. at first I thought it would be annoying but reading more on it it seems pretty cool. What happens if you are in soul form, than you help someone complete the stage, do you just get your body form back? is there any other bonuses?

I'm not martin luther king. I don't have a dream. I have a plan

Sell a man a fish you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish you just ruined a perfect business opportunity.

We didn't emerge out of the stone age because we ran out of stones. Its time to be proactive not reactive.

I'm shocked that Eurogamer gave it a 9.

Because Eurogamer likes giving low scores to good games.

I hope so, as it is truly a killer of a game and it deserves it. A must have for any WRPG fan!

fixed it. yea this game is built more like a WRPG my friend. Its a JRPG in name only

DS only "looks" like a WRPG.  it's quite linear and doesn't really have the open world.

besides, "Katana" is in the weapon list, so it's a JAPANESE RPG

hmmm nope gotta disagree with you on that one.

it has:

- medevil setting

- 100+ hours of gameplay

- weak story

yup looks like a WRPG to me.

oh and being linear has nothing to do with it. Both KOTOR and Mass Effect are quite linear as well and there classified as WRPG's. But nevertheless this game is going to be awesome and should be recommended to fans of both genres
