Forums - Gaming - Crisis Core or Metal Gear Solid 4 - Which had the sadder ending?

Possibly the saddest endings this gen belongs to Crisis Core and MGS4. Both main characters went through so much and got little in return for the good they've done. The ending to both is very emotional and it's hard to hold back a tear or two.

So which game has the sadder ending, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core or Metal Gear Solid 4?

I actually cried at CC's ending, so it has my vote.

Currently playing: Marvel vs. Capcom 3, League of Legends

I got to say Crisis core. Although I love MGS4 to death, and the ending was amazing, Crisis core was heartwrenching. Zack dying impacts not just the game, but the characters. You can tell he struggled, the same with Solid Snake and most of the characters, however, Zack dying truly the most sad thing I have seen in a while.

This is the true definition of owning.

Crisis Core had me in complete shock and sadness, whilst MGS4 didn't. So Crisis Core.

Crisis Core was amazing, but, seriously...

If you're a metal gear fan then the ending to mgs4 changed your life.

MGS4 all the way.

If Snake had actually offed himself then I would have given it to MGS4, but as it stands, Crisis Core affected me more with it's ending.

CC had the best ending! I was actually playing in a mall then suddenly I felt really heavy with the atmosphere of the last part of the game. In public I almost went teary eyed.

crisis core had the sadist ending ive ever seen... MGS4 i didnt even think it had a sad ending

What tehsage said is true. Any MGS fan would have been deeply affected by MGS4's ending despite what truly happened it's sad to see Snake's journey and story come to a close. Crisis Core was a sad ending and I teared up a bit especially when Zack's watching over Cloud and asks "Hey Would You Say I Became A Hero"

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I teared up during MGS4's ending.
