Wow, music sounds SIGNIFICANTLY worse when you turn it to 48k. It's not shocking either. I'm a recording engineer and being that 99.9999% of music out there is mixed down to 41.1Khz, it's not a surprise that it sounds flat and assy when it's being converted to 48k. The mathematical conversion from 44.1 is a very complicated, odd numbered mathematical equation that takes a great deal of processing power to get it to sound decent, and seeing as they're doing it in real time, I'm guessing they're doing it quick and dirty judging by the flat sound quality. This is very disappointing. Now I have to choose between good sound and the XMB. This was a dumb move Sony.
