Advertising is only given to games that are thought to be potentially successful in the first place. That's the great catch-22 of it all. You don't want to waste potential funds as a failure

Why would you continue to develop a game that you thought wouldn't be successful? This isn't a small developer that needs to make money back to live. This is Nintendo. Just cancel game when it even comes close to not succeeding and start on something else. It isn't something exclusive to Disaster btw. Even their high end products like Metroid Prime 3's advertisement was all internet/wii channel based.

Actually Metroid  did have tv advertisements so that examole doesn't count. You should use something like No more Heroes as an example.

We are talking about Nintendo not third parties. No More Heroes doesn't support my Nintendo-focused argument at all because of this.  Also there were commericials to an extent, but I never seen one on TV. Disaster: Day of Crisis also had Tv ads. The point is, they weren't pushed enough. Nintendo uses the bare minimum to advertise their games anymore it seems.

Around the Network

my vote is fatal frame 4

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

Sorry about the mistake but unforunately Metroid had a big advetisement campaign with commercial shown on fox and other mainstream channels (just not a very good one),Punch out also had a big advertisement campaign with ad running on shows like American Idol, Schools New Networks(like Channel One) and of course you typical G4TV ads .So it is untrue that they don't spend advertisement money just not on every game like some companies.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

I want to end this discussion, but blaming NoA will have as much validity as blaming NCL now. Last time the only culprits were NCL, and NoA were always the victims.

No, you misunderstand.

This means that you can't blame either one of them, because it will be impossible to tell whose fault it is.

The game is released in Europe and not in USA. I think it is clear whose fault it is.
