I hope this number goes up within a few years, for the United States' sake! It's rediculous that evolution isn't taught there when it's been taught for MANY years in other countries, like Canada.

Evolution has been taught for many years as well in America.

Well then I don't understand why there isn't a higher % that believes in it. I find it weird that people believe in something that has no evidence (w/e religion they're in) and not something that has tons of evidence. O_o It's scary!

Well, we don't have the Canadian percentages so we can't make a comparison.

Here are a couple links, but I have no idea how accurate this is.

Not too surprising. I've always kinda beleived Canada to be more liberal than the US and the thought process seems to carry over a bit.

Yeah, we definitely are. Our Federal Conservative government is arguably more liberal than the Democrats in the United States.

American liberals are more conservative than most foreign conservatives. We have our far right and our slightly right parties. It's a long uphill battle for the super mega ultimate liberals like me.

@Zlejedi, yeah my Catholic high school in America was back and forth. One teacher taught us evolution, and another teacher taught us "all fags burn in hell." I also had one really cool Old Testament teacher who taught us 4 or 5 different plausible theories behind the story of the Flood, since even though he was a man of faith, he knew that the entire planet going underwater for 40 days isn't going to happen.

Well, evolution is going to be taught to me in biology.

61% of people believe that a super wizard in the sky created a man from dust and spared one of his ribs (pun intended) to another pile of dust which would create another being with different anatomy?

Please, believe the fact that a walking fish had sex with a squirrel butt-fucking a monkey. (Whoever gets the reference receives a cookie).

@Rubang

Please, libertarianism is the way to go! In seriousness, there many liberals who love political correctness and are offended by everything. I do not like that political correctness is usually involved in the ideas of liberalism but I am not saying that all liberals are koo-koo nutty over political correctness.

Where, pray tell, does reaching creationism violate the constitution?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Please, libertarianism is the way to go! In seriousness, liberals tend to like political correctness a LOT and get offended by everything.

I remember you stating dozens of times that you didn't care about politics. Are you just Libertarian because it seems like the cool party to be? It's not. And stereotyping millions of people is not a nice thing to do.

You must be referring to comments I made ONE AND A HALF YEARS ago. But I guess nothing changes in ONE AND A HALF YEARS. I couldn't have been REQUIRED to learn politics in Social Studies class and was DRAWN into it.

I'm libertarian because it matches most closely with my beliefs. And if you want, I'll change my generalization of liberals. But they are the ones to usually complain about something.

Okay, I was just wondering why you had A CHANGE OF OPINION. It's always nice to find something out about yourself by LEARNING IN A CLASSROOM.

The Libertarian party is a bit of a joke, but I think you'll soon discover that there's no such thing as a good, viable party. You should change your generalization about liberals, because it's stereotyping and it's nasty. And let's face it, everyone complains excessively. This is America. This is a democracy.
