I'm glad this "debate" is confined to the US. Outside of it, evolution is one of the strongest scientific theories w have in terms of weight of evidence and the strong preductions Darwin made using it that all cam through (fossils in the right order, finding a physical basis for evolution (DNA), mechanism for evolution of complex things like the eye). It's more solid than Newton's gravity [which was shown to be inaccurate by Einstein of course].
