Forums - Microsoft - Will Microsoft lower the Arcade price? (In response to Wii price cut)

US speaking of course.

I always thought MS wanted to have the lowest price console on the market as of recent years, but once the Wii hits $200 that would make it on even grounds with the XBox Arcade.

Financialy speaking MS has boat loads of money that they are sitting on but with the recent price drop of the Elite and the little profit they make on the arcade, MS would be forgoing even more profit to stay in second place.

It's also obvious the 360 will never catch the Wii but are they afraid to lose even more customers to Nintendo?

Discuss.

It's just that simple.

Around the Network

nope.

Gintama is the funniest show EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Proud owner of all currnet gen consoles.

I not a big wii fan

Okita the sadist.

probably not they will just continue to add more features and games to attract the casual crowd and hopefully "upgrade" them to hardcore status

Long Live SHIO!

It would be pointless.

If Microsoft were to cut the price of the arcade again. I would go out and buy one. My Xbox now does not have an HDMI port and it is now out of warranty. And if they bundle it with a couple of games like they have been since the beginning of this gen. Than you are gettina an awesome deal.

I mean for $150 you get
The best system of the gen.
(Lets say) $30 worth of games
A $50 controller
A $80 powerbrick
I think that it would be an awesome deal. You would have to be foolish not to pick that baby up
Though I don't think they would

Ya this pricecut talk is gettin ridiculous...Nintendo doesn't need to cut there price..they would definitely be wasting a pricecut opportunity if they did it now, I would hate for Nintendo to follow in MS's shoes

It is the best system of the gen but it breaks like the worst one, right ?

whatever, I just hope they dont drop the price :

With any luck, the new Wii price will damage their Xbox360 arcade sales not allowing them to reach the stellar numbers they did reach last year.

Time to Work !

@Libellule

Yup remember PS1 and PS2? Both broke alot but was the best system out.

If they do theyre stupid. They need to just face it and stop trying to take wii's sales.

The wii is in a class of its own.

MSFT's main problem is natal coming out in 1 year. With sonys wand 6 months on the market and the wii firmly entrenched in peoples homes Theyre going to be late to the party

The reason MSFT is sitting comfortably in second place is because they were out of the gate first. Now theyre going to be the new Sony. Last out of the gate with motion sensing and with the most expensive product. Even if its the most impressive its eerily similar to the consoles this gen and we all know how that went for Sony thus far.

Yeah, it breaks just like the PS3. Except on the system you are talking about isn't usually covered by warranty
