Zune can sync and transfer any MP3 files, WMA files that you have on your computer. The problem you will run in to is with Itunes which can be a bitch...they say its suppsoed DRM free now but I havent tested it nor do I believe it.  I am pretty sure Itunes does not let you export songs you purchased to MP3 files (to my knowledge atleast). However, there are many 3rd part programs most of which are free that will do this without an issue.

Once your Ipod library is in MP3 format (as it should be so you don't have to use that stupid Itunes program and slow down your whole machine... you can jsut transfer the songs on to your Zune like you would files from folder to folder.

PM me if you want some of those programs that will transfer Itunes songs to hard drive in mp3 format.

Current iTunes songs uses standard AAC files which Zune also supports directly. I don't think you need to even change them into MP3 files. I use songs bought from iTunes and have transferred them directly to PS3 without changing file format. There are troubles with labels but otherwise they work perfectly. And there is no DRM in current iTunes.

This doesn't apply to old iTunes songs though.

Damnit, early word has it that third party apps will not be supported. This kinda pisses me off. I was hoping to get hold of an SDK and start playing around with it.

Just ordered a 32GB unit, Newegg.com is having a free shipping deal on it.

The only thing I don't like is that 32GB means you have to get silver, whats up with that??
