Forums - Nintendo - I got a Nintendo points card, should I get Wii or DSi games?

so I just got a new Nintendo points card, and was wondering wether I shoudl use it for VC / WiiWare or DSiWare games?

if I chose VC I would get

- Phantasy Star (500)

- Sonic Chaos (500)

- Magician Lord (900)

Wii Ware

- Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (800)

- Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A Dark Lord  (1000)

- 200 Points for DLC

DSi Ware

- Mario VS. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again (800)

- Art Style: Base 10 (500)

- Art Style: Pictobits (500)

Out of your selections, I would get

Mario vs. Donkey Kong (800, and is about the same $ per level as buying the full game used)
Final Fantasy IV:TAY (800)

and now you are screwed with 400 points left over




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

@ nordlead: Nintendo Points Cards can only be spent in one of the two download shops, not both.

@ OP: If it were me, however, I'd hold out for Sonic & Knuckles, then spend the likely remains on whatever looks good in WiiWare...

well that sucks. I thought that when they combined the points into "Nintendo Points" you had 1 main account and could share them.




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

ok, So I checked out your collection and I would say

Go with your DSi selection. Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a great game and you seem to enjoy the Art Style series of games.

Unfortunately, that's not the case, as there would be no convenient way to synchronize the console accounts without leaving the door open for cheating the system.

they apparently only had it as one console/ one account since the wii's launch. this was way before the dsi was even in development, so they never thought of making a way to transfer points. to do that they would have to basiclly re-work the whole system, and they probably didn't want to do all that.
