Oh cool, by the way ssj12 said it was a sequel.

sequel.. spinoff.. practically the same thing when its in the same universe just from a different prospective.

I like the fact that Rare is doing different genre's of games. Rare is a great company with great ideas. I don't think asking them to do launch titles for 360 was a good idea in hindsight. Mostly, because they are creative and launch titles have to be safely done on time which does not encourage creativity.

I expect that Rare will do good with this one and Banjo... And hopefully another Kameo and Viva Pinata game at the very least.

ya think?

I hope they just let this series rest in peace after the crap that was Perfect Dark Zero. I enjoyed that game about as much as Red Steel >_

If this is a direct sequel to the original Perfect Dark, wouldn't it be Perfect Dark 2, and not Perfect Dark Zero 2? Anyway, I would much prefer a continuation of the original story. I felt that the story in PDZ was more contrived, like it was just pulled together to have a story so they could make a prequal. The story in PD was epic, starting as a standard spy shooter investigating a corporation, and ending up being a giant presidential assasination and clone swap, alien ressurection conspiracy.  This story is what made PD one of the best FPSs of all time, so they need to come up with another story of this scale to make it any good.

Why wouldn't an XBLA version of Goldeneye for multiplayer not work?

I fail to see why it'd be so bad or difficult - there are millions of gamers out there that are demanding it on XBLA, and CS: Source did a highly popular 007 mod for it already.

Are you saying graphics would be too bad? (if so, why'd they do Marathon and Doom, which were met with pretty good sales)

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Goldeneye worked on the n64 for two very big reasons:

1st:  It was the first console FPS to use the analogy stick brilliantly.

2nd:  It was also one of the first games to really make use of 4 player action in a terrificly fun way.

Those are the crowns it wears.  There is nothing of the former Goldeneye's glory it would retain by being put on the 360 except name.

It did something really innovative for the time, let's not ruin it.  I would rather see Goldeneye fade away as one of the greatest games of its time and genre and to remember it that way than for a sucktacular sequel that could not live up to the greatness that was the original.

A Perfect Dark sequel would have to be pretty amazing to make up for the taste of dogshit still in my mouth from playing PDZ half a year ago.

@Words Of Wisdom

sucktacular sequel? I am pretty sure mrstickball is talking about the game itself, not a sequel. And I've personally been praying for Goldeneye to come out on Virtual Console.

I personally think their strong point now is platformers over shooters. They had 2 gems, Goldeneye and PD, but i think ruined it with PDZ. I think sequels to games like Jet Force Gemini (which was an epic game, i think i logged in more then a 40-50 hours on that game just trying to get all the secrets and what not in it.), and Conkers Bad Fur Day would be some great games. I'm really looking forward to Banjo Kazooie 3. It just seems Rare has some great IPs they havent taken the opportunity to move into the Next Gen, if you ask me.

Oh, and Viva Pinata was a cool game, for those people that hated it. thats my 2 cents.
