Forums - Gaming - Lost Odyssey 2 not Sakaguchi’s (DAD of FF) next project?!

Besides the battle system, I don't really get the comparisons with Final Fantasy X to be quite honest.

Also, most of this article is purely speculation, and for the 1000th time, Microsoft had nothing to do with Cry-On and its cancellation.

they should have really thought bout giving it to sony, seriously theres no way an RPG can be successful on the 360 >_>

Mass Effect and Fable 2 say hello.......

On topic, and to hopefully trying to add something constructive to the OP (cough, >.> radiantshodow92  )

This really makes me sad actually, LO was my favorite RPG this Gen so far......yes......even above the titles mentioned above.  I understand that is my opinion, however, I was really hoping for sequal.  Perhaps his next project (3rd and possibly final 360 exclusive) will be a memorable one.  Crossing my fingers.

Sakaguchi can do a LOT better than that, hopefully.

This!

First of...+1 Fail points to all the PS3 fanboys....MS own The Lost Odessey IP...And Sakaguchi nor Mistwalker Developed this game...This game was developed by FeelPlus...(Which is owned by MS)
Sakaguchi and MistWalker directed design and developed the Story and Music parts of the game...

Second...LO had fantastic Sales going over 500k...I'm currently on the second disc and loving it...It has that Feel that pre FFVII FF games had...

Thank you and Sorry about the whole one region exclusivity thing for FFXIII....

LO...yuck. Barely made myself finish that game. Sakaguchi can do a LOT better than that, hopefully.

Too bad Sakaguchi has been nothing more than "honorary chairman" in the PS era FF games and ffvi I hear. Perhaps the gooch got a bit rusty so for LO, he just completely ripped the FFX formula.

The difference is...When you get Ming and Sarah...you can only have one mortal in your party(Only on disc 2..no spoilers please......It's nothing Like FFX...Sorry..your just wrong...the GRID is way different...

Was any of this really necesary? I can't see a single mention of it going multiplatform, nor any even remotely fanboyish comments (besides yours, of course) that warrant you getting so defensive.

Please, please, please, stop. It's shit like this that ruins the VGChartz forums.

Well, you have to figure, Mistwalker is basically Sakaguchi and 1-2 others doing basic game design.  They then farm actual development off to another team (like Feel Plus and the other guys at AQ Interactive).  If they had their own team and more hands on on the title (and a bigger budget), the game probalby would've shaped up a good bit better.

@zizzla

there was no fanboyism in this thread till you brought it in

What similarities?....In FFX you swap charaters mid battle....in LO..the Wall is your life....and as for Cry-On....If Mistwalker had actual programmers and not outsourcing everything maybe there would not be a problem...and also...Mistwalker was trying to get the outsourced company to share devs cost...which= fail....and What was FeelPlus doing?....LO2 KONFIRMED!(Yes MS can remove Mistwalker from the sequel)....LOL...No but really...expect Blue Dragon 2 or LO2 at TGS..if not a brand new exclusive game for the 360...

Anyway, this news saddens me. Lost Odyssey is a brilliant game, and I'd love a sequel. (Although, I suppose I still have the remainder of the first game to complete first.)
