I disagree. I hated every GTA game ever released until they finally put out something worth an ass, in GTAIV.
Basically, they did away with all the ridiculous videogame parodies inherent to the series, and crafted a rather excellent and interesting crime drama, with a more realistic gameplay environment.
This reminds of of people who think RE4 was a worse game than RE3, or that Batman 2 was better than The Dark Knight, when in reality, those later releases were vastly superior.
You prefer a game that just isn't as good, and future iterations are never going to seem as good as you remember, because the developers for those games aren't fans of resting on their laurels. Sure there are some failures, but the greatest failure of all, is more of the same.
These are the same people who flame Zelda and Mario for keeping it traditional, yet flame Final Fantasy and GTA for changing the formula.
You want GTA:San Andreas? Go play that game.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
