The psp GO! Deserves to be ridiculed. A first run of a system is expected to be the most obsolete of all of the models. But sony has managed to outdo themselves and try to pull off the biggest ripoffs in handheld gaming ever..

Up the price, make it slightly smaller, and take out important features that makes the psp the psp. Nice.

Just get a psp 3000 with an 8 or 16 gig memory card and to boot, you can buy whatever games on UMD you want for ultra cheap as well! Trust me, 8 gigs is enough.. But if you absolutely need 16 gigs, you can go that route.

of course i am serious if i had the money right now i would get the go over the psp 3000, alot of ppl think it's a rip off and maybe it is but it is more portable and more powerful, and hell i love the look of it i think it's just a preference really, each to their own, i still own an original phat psp but i am planning on upgrading eventually when i get the money

If I was actually planning on taking it with me on anything other than extended trips, I'd buy the Go. It's just smaller (genuinely pocket sized) and I wouldn't have to deal with carrying UMDs (not bothering with pirated games since I rarely play portable games outside my iPhone anyway).

The cost of the Go is a bit of a downer, assuming I'll have to buy any UMD games I already own, which is pretty much most of the games on UMD I want.

If SCE drops the Go price to $199, or offers something nice like a GT Portable package for $250, I'd consider it. Otherwise, I'll probably end up picking up a PSP3000 (or 4000 if it takes long enough) just for playing UMD games at home. I'd never actually take it anywhere with me if I was out for less than a week.

It really depends on which market demographic you're in.

they actually are planning on organising some way of letting you download the games you own on umd to your memory card for free, the only way i can see this happening authentically is by people sending their games back to sony/game stores so they can see that they actually owned a real copy instead of a pirated version on a memory stick

There have been a fair amount of stories written regarding a UMD transfer program, but as of right now, there has been absolutely no concrete plan released by SCE as to what the actual trade in/trade up plan is much less how they plan to implement.

The PSP Go is coming out next month. So the only reason for the silence would be if it's not a priority, or there simply isn't a plan in place upon debut.

Turning in slip case inserts or UMDs would be the most logical, but that leaves SCE with the task of disposing of potentially millions or even tens of millions of UMDs. Slip case insert turn ins would be much simpler for them (Warner does a HD-DVD trade up plan for BD "Red to Blue" which is well implemented), but seeing as how it's the UMDs that have value on the used market, plenty of people would likely sell their used UMDs after trading in their slip covers for DL codes, or even worse for SCE, simply sell the DL codes if they never actually bought or planned to buy a DL only Go.

These are things SCE is closely considering I guarantee.

And what they don't want to do is create an instant glut of millions used UMD games overnight which brings us back to turning in millions of UMDs for DL codes. DL codes for PSP games that aren't currently even available on the PSN Store I might add.

Personally, I'm very curious as to what solution SCE comes up with as a simple "turn in your old UMDs for DL codes" would be the best solution for me, but until I see the official plan, it's not something I can use in reality.

That is true platform/company dedication right there.

Either that or Rol really, really likes his Wii remote.

DX11 graphics for Dirt 2 make me say forget all console versions period and just buy the game on PC when you get a new DX11 VGA card.
