Depends on the console. PS3/360 are better than pc.

I would argue otherwise. Half the games on the PS3/360 are toned down PC games.

So what are you arguing? Even if half of the games would be toned down pc games (which they are not), there is still the other half left.

And PC still has games that don't release on console this generation plus games that released in previous generations. Usually I hate comparing totally different platforms, but when they are pretty much directly comparable such PS3/360 and PC it is quite easy. I shouldn't have singled out your post though, it is your opinion after all. It was just that you didn't list any reasons why you prefer the 360/PS3, while everybody else seems to have explained themselves.

For me PC has those toned down/crappy ports. Like NHL, fifa and madden. PS3/360 > pc > wii.

I like how you list all sports games. Please go ahead and show me more variety in your examples. Just look at shooters. This genre is a main driving force for the HD consoles and PC. Call of Duty series, toned down controls, and multiplayer on consoles. Left 4 Dead, same thing again. The Orange Box, again the same thing.

Well I can't play halo 3 on pc so 360 must be better. Halo 3 > any other shooter. I don't think that the controls are toned down, they are more comfortable than mouse&kb. I don't know one toned down port on consoles. Or are you talking about graphics?

Don't make me laugh, it's actually quite bad of a shooter. Also the controls are toned down becasue analog sticks are so inaccurate, for which the gameplay suffers because they had to make a slow crawling game because the controls are so limited. Read my last post, I used Halo as why shooters on consoles are very weak in comparison to PC ones.

Whatever makes you happy. I prefer halo 3 to any other shooter and the controls are good enough for me to play. If you aren't that good with dual analog, it is your problem. Not mine.

PCs are definetly better. But they're also more expensive, harder to work with, and become dated faster than you can blink.
As Kantor said, consoles guarantee support for their entire lifecycle. That's a whole lot of suport.

PC.

I've had more fun with great PC titles than most all console titles.

Even though console games may be tone down to apply to a larger crowd , As a PC gamer I still find console games very fun. I still like PS3 version of IL-2 even though it a tone down version of the PC game. The same with shooters. Even though I mostly preferred FPS on  the PC I still enjoy playing CoD4 on my Ps3 hooked up to my surround sound.

That's the thing though. Once you have a PC that can play the ports from consoles, you are set for ANY console port that releases this gen. At the same time, you can upgrade your PC throughout the gen, if you want to, to get even better graphics than the consoles, while still being able to play those games.

That's an excellent point.

In theory, you wouldn't have to update it, but if you've gone through all the trouble of getting that kind of PC, you're not gonna stop there, are ya?

But I see what you mean.

I still enjoy the advantages afforded by a controller.

For me personally-- consoles.

I like playing games on my big TV on my comfy couch with my nice surround sound. I do not like spending hours in my shitty office chair, my 17" monitor, and my even shittier speakers. I also hate fiddling with installs, patches, and anything else that can go wrong with PC installs.

And I know, I can hook my PC up to my TV, but I also hate lugging my PC around and fiddling with wires. I enjoy the convenience of just putting my disc in my console and it just works. Even with things like patches and installs, it all just happens automatically and requires no trouble on my part.
