Depends on the console. PS3/360 are better than pc.

I would argue otherwise. Half the games on the PS3/360 are toned down PC games.

So what are you arguing? Even if half of the games would be toned down pc games (which they are not), there is still the other half left.

And PC still has games that don't release on console this generation plus games that released in previous generations. Usually I hate comparing totally different platforms, but when they are pretty much directly comparable such PS3/360 and PC it is quite easy. I shouldn't have singled out your post though, it is your opinion after all. It was just that you didn't list any reasons why you prefer the 360/PS3, while everybody else seems to have explained themselves.

For me PC has those toned down/crappy ports. Like NHL, fifa and madden. PS3/360 > pc > wii.

I like how you list all sports games. Please go ahead and show me more variety in your examples. Just look at shooters. This genre is a main driving force for the HD consoles and PC. Call of Duty series, toned down controls, and multiplayer on consoles. Left 4 Dead, same thing again. The Orange Box, again the same thing.

Given that those consoles are essentiually cut down PCs I find that hard to accept.

For me, it depends on the game. I just slightly prefer console gaming to PC gaming because I like to play on a TV rather than a computer monitor.

PC, if you have the know how you can get a really cheap rig that can ave games looking better on consoles. But I never liked GFX over Gameplay. The games is where it wins. Not only does it have the largest catalog of games ( I'm still playing Commander Keen) but also the games are more sophisticated. They aren't the linear shooting fest which has a total of 3 buttons and new mechanics which are old mechanics, just masked and marketed more (cover, LBP level creatoin, etc. etc.).

Also games are what games are meant to be. If you want to shoot someone, the games on the PC are far faster and skill intensive than the shooters on consoles. If you want strategy instead, play an RTS or a TBS. When I want to shoot mindlessly at blazing speeds, by god I wanna shoot endlessly at blazing speeds, not crawl around the map thinking about what to do next or hiding behind corners cause 1 hitscan shot can kill me. If I wanna think I'll play an RTS. It's real time so I dont have forever to think, yet it's mostly about the thinking. For example, Halo is far closer to Starcraft than it is to Unreal Tournament cause it's so slow for a shooter and requires more thinking, like Starcraft, except it doesnt do much thinking either, so it ends up in no-man's land.

Also, mods and free "DLC." A lot of the DLC that I have seen on consoles has been bullshit. I mean really? Skins for Sackboy? A Modder can do that in afternoons and put it up for free on the PC, not pay 2 bucks a pop. New maps? Again, the amount of new maps made for PC shooters and RTSes is countless. You get the point, content that should be free is actually free.

Of course all this applies if you only have the know how to get the stuff working, if not stick with consoles. I also believe the Wii is the only true console this generation, as the PS3 and the 360 are just half-assed PCs.

I don't get where some here thinks PC games is all about graphics (thus need a super powerful graphic card) because I think it's the exact opposite. It's the HD consoles which puts so much effort into graphics. There are so many PC games that the game's graphics are nothing to brag about: Games like Hearts of Iron 3, Sins of the Solar Empire, Sword of the Stars, Mount & Blade and Civ4. Yet a game like Civ4 has tons of mods which adds years of game play.
