jefforange89 said: I don't see how you can't make the comparison - used games and piracy both cause the exact same financial loss to developers and publishers, the only differences are that one is considered illegal and the other is not, and also one the industry is actively trying to prevent, but the other it's actually backing off on attempting to prevent. When used games are more of a concern to the industry than piracy, it really shows you how it feels on the issue. :) |
NO IT DOES NOT. Again, a used copy has already 'caused' money to be paid to developers, whereas a pirated copy has not.
The mere fact that no further money goes to developers in the case of used games does not make them equivalent.
|
Wrong. I buy the game, dump the DVD's and put up a torrent, or upload it to Rapidshare or whatever.
Money went to the devs, and then they don't see one further cent from all the other people who use this copy of the game, just as the case is with used sales.

Wrong! Absolutely and completely wrong! You fail to factor in all the variables, The used gaming industry is actually VERY helpful to the devs. To kill it off would be to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. Read my last post, I will not explain it again.
And you! Vlad...really? A super sensative mouse as well as a fully customizeable/gaming specific keyboard does not give a person the advantage? Why then, are these items sold? I guarantee they give an advantage since that is what they were designed to do. Also, on the graphics front, once again, you just further the point that the console is better since the graphics are not as highly accelerated as a PC graphics are. Besides, why would anybody spend $500 dollars to max out their graphics capabilities when all they will be doing is turning the settings down.
You PC guys really talk in circles don't you. It's quite simple, The console is superior in almost every way to a PC for many types of gaming. The fact is inarguable.

The bolded part is where you proved yourself to be an ignorant fool. Super-sensitivty is a far bigger detriment to aim. Most pros on campus that I have seen ahve an extra large mouse pad and keep sensitivity to a crawl. Please crawl back from whatever hole you came form and stop spreading utter bullshit when you clearly have no fucking clue what you are talking about. What will cusotmizing your keyboard keys do? Will it aim for you? Will it move for you? Will it magically make your peons gather 10k lumber in seconds?
I also LOVE how you just proved our point. You DON'T need a $500 dollar video card to play at all. Tahnk you for admitting it finally.
Console gaming is only superior in few, VERY few genres. I have listed them befoe many times. Otherwise the PC annihilates any console.

I find it funny that you can call me an ignorant fool and not get banned, I've been banned for less, but I guess that just tells you how biast the mods here are.
Anyway, super sensative mice don't need to have a super "fast" setup. They are super sensative in that they will never lag out on you. Also, a fully customizeable keyboard lets you place the keys where they work best for you, giving you an unfair advantage over people who can't afford one and are forced to play with their regular keyboard, and the gaming specific keyboards are set up to drastically reduce your button pressing time. I really don't know why you continue arguing since you OBVIOUSLY know NOTHING about specialty hardware.
I also like how you COMPLETELY miss my point...yet again. See, I was playing along to your BS point to completely obliderate it, but thanks for clearing up that PCs are actually worse on the graphics front than a console.
Console gaming IS superior on almost ALL genre types due to the controller setup. As an example, the age of PC FPS being better than console FPS is OVER. Halo pretty much obliterated that. The controls are easier, more user friendly and less bulky to use than the PC.
