Keep in mind the wii sold 50 million consoles faster than any other console ever at a price of $250. So it might not be $299 but it ain't far off.
In any case I like the way Rath put it better, "People buy things when perceived value is higher than the price. Simple as that." In my opinion the ps3 has easily reached that point for most which is why I expect sales to drop to around 300,000 next week and considering all the great exclusives coming up will continue to sell very well for quite some time.
