The famitsu 'most wanted' chart does not represent how a game will fare saleswise! Galaxy will do good! High rank or not!

Weird how RE5, DMC4, and MGS4 are on that list, even though the last time a Resident Evil game sold a million in Japan was on the PS1, and the other two franchises have never had a million seller there.
This list is not a really good representative of what people in Japan really want. These come out every so often, and definitely DO NOT translate into sales for most games on the list.

That the list doesn't represent sales doesn't mean it's worthless. It give a good insight in the games that have the interest of the Japanese hardcore gamers.

Then the number of Japanese hardcore gamers must be very low or they just aren't willing to buy, because some of the games near the top of the list have bombed in sales.
@ stof ) yes the voting is console specific - as far as I remember PS3 and 360 version of TLR were in the charts when it was announced
well one of the problems with this list is each person can only vote on 1 game. I remember Persona 3 being #2 for quite a while then only selling 200k on ps2. The only 2 games that are truly in the right order are #1 and #2.
