I made a thread a couple days ago stating why I thought Crystal Chronicles series is better than the main FF series, which was a tough and close decision. Now I wanted to do another where I choose between these two but its hard. I mean, I loved DQ VIII for PS2 and Kingdom Hearts 2, but when it comes down to it, which is the cream of the crop?

The Kingdom Hearts series is really expanding, with DS, and PSP iterations coming out. Disney characters with other Square-Enix characters just make it that much better, but the same can be said for Dragon Quest, well at least for the DS. DQ IX is amazingly good and sold very well.

As for now I vote for Dragon Quest. This is a case where I prefer turn based battles over realtime action combat. The nostalgia  and adventure of Dragon Quest is addicting. I do like games with stories and I like following the stories of Dragon Quest. With Akira Toryama the art designer for the series I can also sense the DB feel (when the DQ VIII Hero goes into that one mode, and the hair and all.) There's just so much more but I don't feel like going to detailed now.

So which game do you guys prefer and why?

i have hard copies of dragon warrior 1-4 for nes. and have dragon quest swords. all in all i prefer dq over kh. kingdom hearts is not bad i just have more enjoyment from dragon quest. i also prefer dragon quest over final fantasy though im sure im in the minority with that one.

I too prefer Dragon Quest over Final Fantasy. When it comes down to it I  didnt really enjoy (or play because i knew i wouldn't enjoy it) FFV, FFVIII, FFX, FFX-2, and FFXI. FFXII was cool but XIII looks to be promising.

KH2 was one of PS2's best games.

DQVIII was good in its own ways, but it was more charming then anything else, its overhyped as a series IMO, but VIII was okay.

In conclusion, i felt KH2 was FAR better then DQVIII, yes jessica has a nice rack, but kairi haz t3h boobies in number 2, and yes sora is a goof ball whos a crap main character, but "The Hero" doesn't even have a real name and he looks like a dragon ball character rip off!

I prefer the original Dragon Quest to either of the Kingdom Hearts games, and DQIV is much better than that, so... there you go.

I like the art and gameplay of KH more.

Dragon Quest has more polish and content.

But I enjoy playing Kingdom Hearts more.

What a decision.
