I get it now, you weren't saying the game is overall better, just in some aspects, and of course I do agree TP is better in some aspects. But still overall, OoT is much better than TP.

"You've opened up a platform for discussion without arguing over which is better"
No, some of you just assumed it's that. I made a bunch of points to discuss, NOT the games overall.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

tolu, I also wrote "certain battles". And in case you forgot, 80-90% of the OoT enemies went down easily as well. I just meant the few that worked best when you had your sword moves.
"The biggest mistake of TP was to be a wannabe OoT."
No, the biggest mistake was Nintendo thinking the fans clamoring for another OoT after Majora's Mask and Wind Waker meant they actually wanted another game like OoT. This is why Nintendo has learned not to care about what the fan community thinks.

There are two main problems with TP
the game is much easier than Oot
the should have taken some elements from a Link to the Past that were missing in OoT and are awesome
"the game is much easier than Oot"
1. Easy does NOT mean bad. Halo is easier than some PC shooters. You'd have to be a PC snob to think that's a bad thing.
2. Did you play OoT and the other 3D Zelda games before or after TP? If after, it's easy because you're used to it, same reason I found TP and Wind Waker easier than OoT. I was used to the gameplay and structure.

"4. Spiders not as scary.
The skultas barely even look like spiders in OoT. In TP, they are a real terror to someone even mildly afraid of spiders. And the Temple of Time boss, holy shit. At least the first boss in OoT can go down with a well times slingshot pellet and some sword slashes."
Are you sure you've played the Forrest Temple in OoT? Those were scarier then ANY TP creature.
I played OoT AFTER i beat TP several times. I find the overall world is more interesting in OoT, but TP as an overall better game.
I prefer Twilight Princess mostly because it is a copy of Ocarina of Time but everything that was new and beta version in Ocarina of Time is perfected in Twilight Princess.
The best part of Twilight Princess are the learned sword techniques that can be performed on command. Unlike other Zeldas like Wind Waker which they have to be in response to a previous attack. Sword Techniques are probably the only good thing that started in The Adventure of Link.
