Basically, I wanted to start up a thread on what games people have taken time off from work, skipped school or just simply stayed home and played once it comes out. For me is always the Final Fantasy series. Is the only game I actually reserve and cant wait to play. I would skip school for a week or taken a week vacation. Set up my room as a cave I only leave to go to the bathroom never showered and barely ate.

So what game or games have you done this for?

For me it was every single one of the Gran Turismo games. Skipped school, took holidays/sickies from work just to play it. You name it. When it was released i stayed up pretty much 20hrs each day except the first 2 nights where i didnt really sleep more then 1-2 hours.. lol.

Resistance 2 and soon for God of war 3!!!!!

Has anyone ever completed a GT game. Once it gets to the 24 hours race its like uhm this is to much.

Final Fantasy 7 changed my life. The game was amazing and baffling in every way. Never before had I played a game that relied so heavily on story and strategy. The idea that a game could be a delivery device for an amazing story was never something that had occurred to me, and the strategic nature of the gameplay was something I'd never seen before.

This started my love for RPG's and scolding by my mom for playing it 24/7 until i finished it.

Yup completed every single GT game and plan on doing the same to GT PSP and GT5 when released.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. I just got really addicted and since I was at uni I managed to skip about 1 weeks worth of lectures to complete it.

well i never missed work to play a game (tho i did what to go home and play it) but i did do it all the time when i was in school
