If there was a poisoner, why wasn't there a pharmacist to counter him/her?

I think that's the answer to a lot of the complaining above.

Also, the counter to the Poisoner was the Reporter.  Since the cop gets an Innocent reading off the Poisoner, only the Reporter could detect it.

And that's my response to you...

I don't want anyone to get screwed over again that's all. Anyone else have a more reasonable solution or should we agree on one of the ones I've proposed?

There was no injustice.  All that is necessary is for people to read the rules that were posted in the sign-up topic:

Ok, now we're being reasonable and I agree to that. But what about the 3rd day that lasted as long as it did. That benefitted the Town so much as so many roles were revealed tell me that wasn't a little messed up. That's why we need a new rule that will techinacally make the day end . Until the mod gets here and offiacially ends it.

WoW beat me to it. Few people have bothered to actually read the rules, and those are the only ones ever surprised by what is going on. I am relatively certain it even covers whether or not the doctor can heal himself.

The poisoner role doesn't need a straight counter either. It is ridiculously difficult to win with the role. If the mafia decide they want to pop you for no reason, well thats game over. If the town (rightfully) suspects you then its game over. Since the serial killers have to attack every night there will always be someone dying, and you can't try to lay low to keep the heat off.

Back-up mod would take two people out of the game rather than one, and potentially cause confusion as to who gets night PMs. Locking in votes completely removes the persons ability to defend themselves. In a smaller game this means the mafia can wait for a couple of people to get suspicious of the wrong person, pile on, and then explain how they wish they could unvote because now they see the truth.

If the game is being well played it shouldn't matter how long they have to figure out if you are mafia or not. All the problems you guys had this round can be traced back to inexperience. The only thing we may need to start doing is rounding up to 4 mafia with all the power roles we are giving the townies.

No, it wasn't. People were role claiming, but there was no evidence they were telling the truth. The only thing that screwed the mafia was a nasty paper trail. Hell they even got a free kill from Soriku (townie) out of the day. DGC was dead, and then suddenly sticking up for Falcon sealed the fates of both. The mafia just played their hand poorly after day 2.

Before every game there is a sign-up thread. In the sign-up thread the rules are completely spelled out. For people not in the game yet it would appear the rules are not well displayed, but anyone who signs up must have seen the post at least once, and know where it exists.
