if this would be true (what i dont think) this would be definaty a big reason for not buying this game...this game is perfect for playing home with friends...if i imagine how much fun u can have with Mario Kart with your friends!

but i really doubt that...the developers know that too that this would be a big problem if there is only 2 PL offline!

4-player splitscreen is a selling point.
2-player is just meh.

My guess is they have looked into the social lives of the PS3 fanbase and decided that they simply don't have enough friends in real life to justify it.

I was hoping that Sony would contact me.  But, they have a fairly high presence on the site already.  It's only a matter of time before MS contacts me with an ad for Natal.

This needs to have 4 player offline. No one should be stupid enough to release a cart game that dosn't allow 4 players offline.
