Dammit! It is not mediocre! Even the critics agree (92 on Metacritic). I just wonder if everyone says these things because it's now the popular thing to dislike this genuinely good game, or because they actually played it and formed their own opinion. If the latter is the case, then I'm perfectly alright with that. But give it a chance first.

I don't care what the critics say. Sunshine is average, nothing more. Poor level and objective design, terrible camera, and FLUDD is absolutely idiotic.
@ Rollstoppable, besides Guitar Hero 3. I don't see any games that will do it before the year ends. But you are wrong 3rd party does sell on the Wii. Look at number 7 and 8. Both games from Ubisoft. Expect the sequels to do better in the long run
Edit: Sorry for my choice of words, I don't hate sunshine, BAD is too harsh. Just not GOOD to Mario standards. A relatively less good Mario game is still very good.

Never.
And while we're arguing over controversial Nintendo games, Zelda II is awesome. Black sheep, my ass.
@RolStoppable:
I totally agree with you on the Mario Kart point. Double Dash!! was superior to MK64 in numerous ways. The GP track design in MK64 was lacking, but the multiplayer was fantastic, while DKR had great single-player and poor multiplayer (though of course, is not a MK game). DD!! has the best of both worlds, and is easily the best console MK to date.

| Joemanji said: @ Johnsobas: again preorders are nothing to go by. People who will buy Galaxy will not always preorder. If you interpret preorders you should add instead of substract! Point of comparison Halo3. It had 1 million preorders but sold 3 times more on launch. |
ugh, actually yes preorders are very important because they are retail preorders. Japan is a different beast from America where the majority of the people that want the game will buy it on the first day. In Japan when people finish a game most of them will immediately sell it back to the store, especially when it is a game that is only single player. If the preorders are 700k but 1 million people want the game on the first day, the used copies will hit store far before the second shipment will and the sales will be hurt badly. We saw this on FF3 DS in Japan when the second shipment couldn't make it in time and it probably lost at least 200k in sales.
Anyway, with preorders of 700k it isn't possible for galaxy to sell more than 700k in the first week because that is all the supply there is for the first week.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
To get back on track:
As for third-party games, besides GH3, Resident Evil 4 will pass 1 mil before the year is out easily. A budget title from a recognizable series during holiday season is like a gold mine. Buying your friend or relative a Wii and don't know what game to buy? That price-tag is going to catch your eye.
