M$ has never had the chance to redesign the hardware yet. The first X-box was a money sink and to be honest a failure. The current X-box already overheats and reducing it in size could potentially make the problem worse.
Maybe M$ will change the shape of the current 360 later in the generation. They just have not had the chance to do it yet tis all. |
If the original Xbox was a money sink than the PS3 is a black hole. Nevertheless, they took the time to redesign the hardware and remove great features.
Nintendo redesigned plenty of their hardware might I add. The NES had a top loading model. The SNES had slimmer model released in Japan. The Gameboy Pocket was considerably smaller than the original unit. Gameboy Advance had the SP and Micro. DS Lite says smaller in the title. The N64 and Gamecube never had slimmer models and the Wii is tiny already.
