Forums - Nintendo - When will more wii third party games be announced?

I stopped worrying about not having good third party games on the Wii. I just realize while voting for VGChartz most wanted games that Nintendo is pretty much about to give us amazing games. However, there are pretty good games announced right know and I'm pretty sure more games will join to that list soon.

im not asking for the same support as HD consoles, i just want the current support to continue. it just seems to me that the supply of third party games pretty much drys up after Q! and i was wondering why

Yes, most of the 3rd party games we know about release between now and the end of Q1 next year.  When will more be announced?  Hmm...Isn't GDC in Q1?  E3 in Q2?  The convention in Europe in Q3? and TGS in Q4? (or damn near).  Pretty much the cycle repeats itself so you know when announcements are coming.

usually third party game seem to be announced about a year in advance. the only third party wii games announced at E3 that will hit this year are You Shape and that football academy game from ubisoft

Well there are plenty of big third-party games that aren't hitting in Q1: The Grinder, Monado, Samurai Warriors 3, Dragon Quest X being among them. Then add games like Cosmic Walker and Dynamic Slash where we have no idea when they're coming, if at all.

But to answer your question, TGS is in a few days. That's where I plan to see a lot of wii game announcements, just like last year.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

It's already shipped a million, so it's a success.

CURSE U SIR I NEED NEW PANTS. I never thought how awsome it would be if MH3 had a sequel on Wii ...

On the topic: 3rd partie titles are not the reason i buy nintendo consoles. (DS is an exclusion.)

Wait, a ton of third party games have already been announced for the Wii. They're coming out right now. One amazing one just came out (Muramasa: The Demon Blade).  Plus we already got Little Kings Story.  And next up is A Boy and his Blob, Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, Wallace and Gromit's Grand Adventures and more.  2010 isn't the start of Wiis great third party line-up, 2009 is.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

TGS or the next GDC could reveal a bit of what 3rd parties have in store for later on in 2010. High Voltage's stuff will probably be for later that year, as will Bethesda's mystery game, and probably some more stuff.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

@ griffnaA

monado, dynamic slash and cosmic walker are all first party i believe. although i had forgotten about bethesda's game so thank you for reminding me.

@Maxis
0ts not so much i think the wii lakes games it just seems that its weird that third party support looks weaker in 2010 so far than 2009

@ Khan

I hope your right. this year HD and wii third party support was rekatively even. but next year seems very HD focused after Q1 which surprised me
