Actually the PS3 has been worked on since release

And the cost problem is in the Blue-Ray discs not burners

Actually no, c4eva has only just got involved in hacking the ps3, he posted an update saying he expects a chip to be ready for testing in the next two months, c4eva is the person that hacked the 360's dvd drive making the 360 flashable,

Bluray discs are dropping in price although still expensive, they should be much cheaper within the next six months.

This is off-topic but your sig is funny as hell.

Yeah sorry, I did go a bit off topic there!

@ nen-suer, send me a message if you would like a to do a bet (for fun)

The gaming industry would be lost without Sony. Think about what Sony brought to the gaming industry over the years. All the faith and money they put into new IP's. With out Sony you wouldn't have games like LBP. The gaming world needs Sony so I don't know why people want to see it fail because even if you love the Xbox 360 more or your Wii more those Consols wouldn't be half as good as they are without Sony there pushing them to try produce better.

No PS3 Slim is not Sonys last hope because they have always been going good and if Xbox 360 fanboys took there heads out there ass's, stopped worrying about Sony beating them again and just played some games instead of making boring threads then these forums would become more interesting

Well, I don't know about lost, but I do agree that Sony is good for the gaming industry.  Competition is always good as it keeps prices down and developers motivated.

Assuming the worst happens (and I don't happen to believe it will), and the PS3 ends up being in the red for it's entire lifespan, whether or not Sony would stay in the console business would probably depend on their financial situation at the time. If it they're bleeding red ink like they are today, then I think they will exit the business. If they get back to profitability by then, I'm guessing they'll take another shot at it.

Wow... and here I thought that Atari, Nintendo, MS, etc. had all contributed heavily to the industry.  I guess video games were just crapola before Sony enchanted the industry with its magic wand of chocolaty goodness.

Oh so your saying Sony didn't change the industry for the better these last 10 years. OK name your top 5 games of all time and we will see if Sony helped push them to new levels or not because I know if Sony never existed my top 5 games would not have existed.

Just wondering also, if it fails whats going to be the fanboys new hope for the playstation.... or I guess no matter what happens it won't fail even if there's only a dozen sold worldwide and then you have two dozens sold you'd see threads with PS3 sales up 100% lol.

Btw I think its true, Halo3 is underrated by many gamers. The game is still selling good even now and still lots of people playing it.

My favorite games for this gen:

1. Gears of War    2. MGS4    3. Killzone 2   4. Halo 3(Underated by many)      5. Mass Effect
