Hmm... In 8 weeks I'll make the second 'Is VGChartz accurate?' thread. I'll try to spice it up with even more numbers and an even deeper analysis. It will be interesting to see how accurate the numbers are over the holidays (historically notoriously inaccurate). It will also be interesting to see how well my methods work over time.

I'm going to go away and start planning.

I am so looking forward to the December 2010 NPD due out in mid January. That will give us an extremely thorough analysis of how VGChartz sales numbers stack up against the well reknown NPD. Weekly sales adjustments could be made. Hardware sales of VGChartz tend to be close to NPD. It is the software numbers which can be very hard to predict accurately.

Yeah, software is much more difficult to measure accurately. VGChartz hasn't been very off on hardware figures for a long time now, I feel. The last couple of months have proved to be very accurate as far as I can tell.

Adjustments are in. Pretty big ones this week, especially for the xbox. This is to be expected after the holiday season though.

Pretty massive, but considering Wii has pulled off a 1.8 million week and the other two have been close to a million as well it's nothing to be ashamed of. And the cumulative adjustments are looking very good. I'll be following the next couple of weeks with extra interest.

You know, it'd be interesting to have a little "total adjustments" table. Basically sum up the absolute value of all adjustments. Maybe divide this up by weeks tracked, and we can have an average of how much vgchartz is off by per week.

Dang, huge leap for MS all of a sudden :D

Not going to put up the adjustments before all figures are in, but it appears Wii just got an upward adjustment of around 400k.

Everything was up massively this week. I guess this is following the surprising NPD report, since the biggest adjustments were in the Americas.

Wii - UP 460k
PS3 - UP 125k
Xbox - UP 70k

Killergran, just wanted to thank you for doing this.  I have been closely watching this site for a few years but only just recently created an account.  I only have two threads bookmarked so that I can check them regularly and this is one of them.  The first thing I do after numbers are posted every Thursday is to check this thread almost every hour until you have updated it.  I know you put a lot of work into this every week and I for one greatly appreciate it.  So, THANKS!
