Yeah now there is the real competition..always good when something strikes back after miss.

Real competition to the Wii.

The PS3 was always stiff competition for the 360 as the respectives sales from launch prove.

Now its just moved up a few gears.

I am happy to see opinions on the PS3 have improved a lot as expected with the introduction of a cheaper slimline model and general PS3 software improvements.

Eurogamer was pretty biased in the past. But the timing seems just about right for things to sway as Sony's playstation division is now turning towards profitability.

I like how you put the entire Playstation umbrella and not just the PS3 which will of course lose more money hand over fist as Sony are still losing money on each sold.

Eurogamer has never been particularly biased overall, it's just silly paranoia from PS3 fanboys obsessed that not everyone sees things through their rose tinted spetacles.  My evidence to backup this claim is simple, Sony fanboys have been crying for the last few years is that a huge number of sites are anti PS3, have they ever considered they're just ridiculously pro PS3?

Perhaps there is a balance to be struck and your can meet it half way by looking at your own bias. Some of the stuff that has been said about the PS3 was ridiculous.

I don't think it's that big of a deal when the division is back to being profitable. The hardware is priced too cheaply (for an ordinary company), so Sony will loose some cash on that. But on the other hand PS3 owners buy a lot of software, according to a recent article about 7.9 games on average at that point. So despite the huge XBox 360 headstart (more average months of ownership translates into higher attach rate) that's about on par.

They make money on software, games and other divisions benefit from additional Blu-Ray movie sales and potential interests to upgrade towards a HDTV and/or surround sound.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

I don't hide my biased views on this site and never have, in fact I started a thread a while ago stating its impossible to be truly impartial as you will always have a favourite console.  The PS3 has got nothing on the crap Sony fanboys spout about the 360.  I find it pretty funny though how people who don't own all 3 consoles this generation presume to know better than people who do.
