Forums - Microsoft - Lost odyssey - new trailer

IMO, in the US, Lost Odysseys score should vastly outrank that of Blue Dragon - merely because there's only a 1-2 month delay in release which will kill the whole "oh, the game is 9mo old, we deduct 1.5pts for that".

that and im sure they will give it higher, more mature story, which is what many hit the score on, also graphic wise i think it will receive more, cause again, they like more mature themes

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Did you even play Blue Dragon? I'm just wondering, you seem to bash Mistwaker, but as far as I can tell, you never did any research into Mistwaker and Sakaguchi post-Final Fantas. S-E screwed him over. So what if he makes games that are similar to Final Fantasy? He made the entire series from the ground up, he has a right to do his games his way. If anything, FFXIII will be a Lost-Odyssey ripoff, not the other way around.

Also, FF8 didn't have any sort of active-attack system unless it was later in the game. SMRPG had one, and Eternal Sonata has an active defense system, but FF never did, to my knowledge.

I admit, i played the demo and nothing more of blue dragon. Bd's battle system is a step in the right direction but nowhere near innovative. Im highly critical of Mistwalker because they have so much potential and i dont think they are living up to it yet, with that said i have yet play LO or ash. AS for 13 being a rip-off of LO would u mind going into detail please? As far as i can tell they have nothing in common excpt that they are both made in japan. Yes ff8 had something similiar to the trigger thing in LO. Right before squall attacked if u pressed R1 then he would do more damge. You could do that from the first battle to the very last if one well pleased.

Look i think im coming across as a mistwalker hater and i can see why but i dont hate them, i want them to be the best and thats why im so highly critical. But to sit there and say ff rips off of lo is so ignorant its disgusting. LO shamelessly rips off what ff has done and thats ok with me.

As for lost tears of kain i wasnt trying to be a jerk to u or anything. I would rather be friends on here rather than enemies. Im assuming that you have a 360 and im just curious as to what ur gamertag is so i can add you as friend. Mines Dabaus513   same as my name on here. Anyone else for that matter can add me.

youve got to relize this, mistwalker is NOT making these games, the ideas, music, and story come from them, they also give a little support in making it, thats it. This is being developed by feel plus, which has what 20-50 former Square employees? I dont think Mistwalker can live up to its potential until they get developers who are on SE lvl, and i hope feel plus can do it. It seems its got some good ones, so i just hope

Okay, so you didn't actually get into Blue Dragon, which was 10x better in the game than the demo (read any impression thread of the demo vs. actual game).

Mistwaker has great potential, and if you never played Blue Dragon, you'd never, ever know that Blue Dragon was one of the best turn based RPGs ever. You shouldn't hate a company that's games your only basing your opinion on from trailers and random previews.

<edit>

I'm not trying to bash you with my response, but I'm just saying. As a diehard Sakaguchi fan (since I played FFI in 90 for NES), I've played probably 90% of his games, and Blue Dragon is just as solid as anything else he's made. The demo was so-so (atleast for some, I liked the demo), but the gameplay is just phenominal. There's a 7,000+ post at NeoGAF about the game that's been ongoing for a year now, with oh-so many people praising the game. Blue Dragon is really, truely, a gem.

Best RPG for 360?

I think so
