You can argue that technically XBL is better but you can also argue that PSN is free and not unplayable and therefor the better choice (for you). But int he end almost 50% of the market is on the Wii so obviously online isn't such a big deal and a service like the Wii Channels is good enough for them.
Fair comments and I'm glad to see a nice lack of PR speak.
Really, MS followed PC trends with Xbox and Live, putting in place a Western orientated approach that has seen huge success in US and UK with 360, luring many would be PC gamers to the 360 for a similar, cheaper entry point experience.
Sony, focused on console trends and with a different perspective was very slow to respond to this approach - or even decide they wanted to support such gamers.
PSN is indeed therefore playing catch-up, and has done a pretty decent job really, steadily closing the gap - although admittedly it's always easier to catch a clear leader by following than it is for the leader to widen the gap.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
Xbox Live is not superior. Playstation Network is awesome and free. Screw Xbox Live.

Yes I can and yes he does.
He admits it by what he says.
Both seem pretty equal to me now, at first it was Live all the way but I think PSN is much, much better
he stated facts, this is Sony's first true networking experience, Microsoft has had many years to perfct it. XBL with XBOX was not as good as PSN is with PS3. It became better with XBOX360.

For a first time shot at it i think Sony did and is doing very well for a mostly free service.

Right now this is very much a luxury car vs standard car argument; XBOX Live has some very useful bells and whistles that PSN does not. But for the standard feature of driving (or in this case, playing on-line) PSN is the equivalent and free.
I think the bells and whistles for Live are more than worth the money I pay, but that's a personal opinion.
That being said, I'm sure Sony is dedicated to making their service the premiere on-line service - I don't know that they'll ever be able to pass XBOX Live, but I'm sure they will continue to try.
