yet is the key word i dont make my predictions with math and graphs

the gap should be some where in the 6.5mill range b4 the years up thats assuming theres no gt5 release and ff13

the ps3 will continue its momentum through out all of 3/4 of 2010 with big guns like gt5 and ff13 and gow3 releasing then i think the gap by 8/2010 should be around 3mill

if sony can win he price drop war like it did this year in 2010 then it will earase that 3mill gap by4 2011 starts so i left some room and said march 2011 i dont see the 360 being ahead b4 2012 starts

u guys are underestimating wat gt5, ff13, gow3 can do to HW especially in EU and JP regions where 360 is not popular those regions is where the ps3 will make up the most ground especially in japan wait for 9/5/09 japan ps3 numbers ull see wat im talking about

No disrespect but I think you may have finally lost the plot with those predictions^

for me, the biggest game changer this gen is not a game, it is project natal.

I expect huge sales from it. More than a single game could move.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Natal itself will shift very few consoles. All hardware, including peripherals, need system sellers, Natal would merely be the enabler of that hypothetical system seller.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Kowenicki, wouldn't it make sense to use the last year's numbers? If you only use 6 months then you leave out the holidays, which would be very important.

More time is almost always better.

That is kind of what I thought.

I might throw one of those into the OP, were I you, just for the new perspective.

Did you take into account that everyone that buys GT5, FF13, and GOW3 will also pick up a new PS3 with the game (even if they already have a PS3)?

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

@kowenicki,

Didnt think so. It is a rare phenomena that playstation owners pick up new consoles when they pick up major releases. I know many PS2 owners that had a separate PS2 for each GTA, for GT3 and GT4, etc.

Hmm... thats an interesting subject and theory.  However, even if that is the case, what percentage do you think would actually pick up another console even if bundled with a game?

I think it would be minimal and then would not skew Kowenickis numbers too much.

I game.  You game.  We game.

I'm a videogamer, not a fanboy, but have a special place for Nintendo.

Current Systems Owned: NSwitch/PS4/XONE/WiiU/3DS/2DS/PCGaming Rig-i7/ASUS i7 Gaming Laptop.

Previous Game Consoles:  PS3/Xbox360/Wii/DSL/Pretty much every one thats been released since the Atari 2600.

@caz604,

Psst. Dont tell anyone. I am kidding. I really believe that when those games release the PS3 will have such a large percentage of owners that purchased the PS3 mostly for those games that you will seea bump like we did with MGS4. A couple of months later you wouldnt even know they released. But please keep this just between you and me.
