Forums - General - Firefox 3.0 not remembering your settings?

Ever had the problem where your firefox refuses to remembe your settings when you close the program? This used to happen to me all the time. Even if I told a website to remember my settings, firefox wouldn't allow it. If anyone out there has experienced this problem too, allow me to say there is indeed a cure- an easy one at that.

Step 1: go to your profile folder

Step 1.1: make sure firefox is closed

Step 1.5: to reach your profile folder, go to the run command and type in %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

Step 2: you should be at a screen that shows a folder and says "ddarsdkaldh.default" (it will be random letters)

Step 3:  double click the folder.

Step 4: in this folder look for something called "cookies.sqlite"

Step 4.5: rename "cookies.sqlite" to cookies.tmp

Step 5: close the the screen you got through the run command and go test firefox out

Step 5.5: To test, go to vgchartz.com, type in your pass and whatnot, and then close firefox.

Step 5.75: open firefox and go back to vgchartz. If you're still logged in then you are cured of this weird problem.

:D i hope this helps anyone. I for one am relieved i don't have to spend 10 minutes retyping my stuff every single time i close FF.

cheers

:'\ I guess this problem wasn't as widespread as I thought.
