i only read this about the ps3 HDD test http://ps3.ign.com/articles/745/745407p1.html both 60gb 8 cache and 100gb 7200 rpm 8 cache where the same
would like to know wat sizes and caches are in each ps3 sku since there are alot wondering if they ever changed the specs |
This article (http://www.gamepro.com/article/features/138288/7200rpm-vs-5400rpm-does-ps3-hard-drive-speed-matter/) suggests that a 7200 rpm drive can have speed advantages.
but those tests mean nothing since they tested the slim vs the slim with different firmwares... where is the phat with both firmwares installed in the tests listed? this benchmark of performance is worthless.

This means a lot in the grand scheme of things. Word-of-mouth will spread that the "slim loads faster than the old models!!1!" even if it is by less than a half second (or in the Killzone 2 tests case, 25 seconds!).
