Forums - Gaming - Who here actually pre-orders games?

Personally I do. If it's a game looking I'm really looking forward to I'll pre-order it. If there is a midnight launch announced and I want the game, then it's a definite pre-order. Midnight launches can be fun depending on the people who show up, and you can also win a lot of merchandise.

I don't know many other people who pre-order so can I get a show of hands? How about some midnight launch stories if anything exciting happened?

My two favorite have been Resident Evil 5 and MGS4. At MGS4 I won TONS of stuff and i met about 6 players who all had there psps with them and monster hunter freedom so that was a fun night. At RE5 i dressed up like a zombie, make up and whole 9 yards got it professionally done. Everyone else dressed up like Umbrella so it was a lot of funny pictures with me getting the snot beat of me basicly.

Only game I ever pre-ordered was Pokemon Silver + Gold when I was like 10.

Now, I don't pre-order seeing they most likely have the game in stock. But with these free stuff for pre ordering games now, I'm tempted. Most likely going to pre-order Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2 at Gamestop soon.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 > Modern Warfare 2

Alot of time at midnight launches gamestop employees or Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft rep will give you stuff. Usually it's trivia, they'll ask you a question and give you something. I won a strategy guide and a blue tooth headset at the MGS4 one.

All the time. I preorder most of what I know I'm going to buy.

For me...it's ALL about what I can get...if the pre-order doesn't have any extra bennies...forget it...I NEED to get someting, otherwise I can wait.

I hear you one that, which is why I only pre-order if I really want the game of if there are goodies galore. Which midnight launches do often XD seriously i've been to ones where everyones just meh.....(killzone 2) and i've been to some where it was fun as hell.

Only for some nice pre-order bonuses.

I don't see why someone would pre-order without some stuff? Sure, it's only $5, but that's $5 less in my pocket.

Certainly. Especially if I feel like the game will be sold out at Gamestop/EB Games.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

For niche games, games that will be in short supply or games with a pre-order bonus.
