60 gigs are the only PS3s to get YLOD, im geussing it has something to do with the PS2 chip, maybe it overheats or somthing?

k now im re building it, but I broke that little black switch to connect the silver wire from the blu-ray drive to the ps3, is there any way of fixing it?

just get the slim, its more reliable.

it doesnt work, and my father just had a ballistic mood swing.. he has gone half insane and nearly ripped the console into pieces (he smashed it to the floor because I told him heat causes increase in humidity, and he says if we heat up the chips inside more it would have worked because it would kill off the humidity -_-) So no PS3 slim for months possibly, and looks like im giving up on PS3 gaming for a while, and possibly forever, since my mother says there is no money for a ps3, but there is money for $4000 furniture =)

It's sad to hear that happened..

I just got the YLOD as well on my 60 gig. I called Sony support and they told me I would receive my original 60 gig back or a refurbished 60 or 80 gig. she promised me I would receive a b/c model after service. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
