They could just release games with special features for DSI, but releasing DSI only, ignoring another 90 million base is just not a smart move. For Nintendo I understand because they want promote their console.

Published via nintendo? They could have had large incentives from Nintendo to produce these games for there system. 

there is a market for DSi games, people who have a DSi will pay special attention for them because there isn't any yet. I mean it's like the balance board or wii motion plus, it's worth making it for them even if you have to ignore part of the userbase. Shaun White was a big success even though the BB had a tiny userbase when it came out.

Because the DS is taking too long to die and they want to uptate their games without killing profit so they did this or at least I think they did
