I guess when he says bitter, he means the kinds of things people say, like when you say "lacking features that made the fattys sought after".

I'm not saying you're bitter, but that someone who is bitter might try to make it seem like the slim is a significant reduciton in features.

I'm shocked. I can only assume that the PS3 Slim is in limited stock right now. I truly expected to see PS3 sales over 200K this week. . Maybe that will happen next week though. There's no way the PS3 will be under 200K for all of Sept.

I was in target today and the ps3's were sold out with the exception of the 160 gigs. I'm curious on how well Final Fantasy 13 sells and how much hardware it pushes. What do you guys think? (the ones that look at numbers all the time) Is it really going to be that huge! (I'm asking) Japan seems really out of the loop this gen. I know dragon quest was ridiculous, but that is a rare exception.

Bitter - the Slim sucks because - it's the same price as the Elite!!!!

Real - the Slim isn't all that because of the lack of features - like Linux support, BC and loss of USB ports - all things the older PS3s had.

There's no need to hate on the Slim - I'm glad I got a fatty.

Yeah the fatty looks better and has more features thus making the slim not a good choice although the price is great for a 120 gigi...

are you talking about the fat 80gb ps3?? if so it's basically has the same features as the slim exept the linux support but if your talking about the original 60gb then yeh slim is missing a lot of features compared to it but the 60gb is missing 1 thing that consumers want.....the low price.

See, first of all, you're comparing the slim to the 60GB or 80GB, not the 40GB which has come to be the standard as of late...which only had two usb slots, the same as the slim.

It's subtle things like this that make things seem real or trolling (not to say you are).

60GB has not been on sale for at least a year now. BC has been gone for quite some time.

I'm just sayin, if you're going to criticize the ps3, criticize the actual difference, not the most inflated difference you can think of.
If you wanna talk about the 60GB, also realize that there are a lot of benefits. Even more benefits than comparing the 40 to the slim.

For example, the slim is only 100$ cheaper than the 40GB, but 300$ cheaper than the 60GB. The failure rates from the slim are probably going to be less than the 40GB, but will be much less than the 60GB. I can keep going on about how the benefits are also inflated.

how bout Layton 2?

Hardly anyone ever used Linux and it wasn't that good when you did. Chances are if you wanted to run Linux on Ps3 you are somewhat tech savy and have tryed it already. I really don't think new consumers citing linux compatibly as a reason to buy a Ps3 which is why it makes you sound bitter as you are grasping at straws to put down the Ps3 slim.

You wouldn't say the Elite isn't a big deal because it has no  built in wifi (took out hdmi cables?) forgot if thats true or not and still the controllers take AA batteries. Or that the arcade for 199 is no big deal because it has no HD.
