Hate that idea for consoles myself maybe a HD (ps3 anyone) But even by allowing people to upgrade the ram in a console its more or less a gaming computer then, which takes away from the plug and play ability of a console.
I think a better solution would be for the likes of console makers to stop saying how little ram can we get away with, and start saying how much ram is more then enough for 2020/25 era, stop going x4 and go 10 or 20
