Forums - Nintendo - Okamiden is a DS game

At first, I was worried about seeing what looked like Susano's square frame. But after seeing the trees and landscapes (left shot), it looks great. I can't wait to play this game. I hope the game makes a big profit this time.

Okamiden looks beautiful on the DS you must learn to appreciate this. It would suck on PSP. Don't even get me started on XBLA, or PSN. (You seem to be biased against Nintendo seeing how you missed to include Wii Ware). The game is on DS, don't buy it if you don't like it. Matter of fact don't buy Golden Sun DS either.

NINTENDO

nintendo forever . . .

That's true. Could you imagine painting with the PSP's analog nub?

*Shudders*

Who is making this? We might be sad we saw anything from the series without it being in Clover's hands. They have an interesting sense of humor and played the God/Dog themes well. Not sure if want some less autere game designer making my Okami.

why would it suck on the PSP? thats crazy. PSP would do mad love to this game. I'm sure the original artist design could of been kept as well. But thats fine, the DS is okay, but do not bring mocking other platforms into the discussion. There's no reason not to consider the PSP, as the game was originally designed for the PS2. Brush/Painting was about 10% of the game, and the analog nub would be fine for it. The Platforming and other sections would be vastly superior on the PSP and it surely could have more content and better sound. That being said, the DS is a fine platform for it, lets just hope the game doesn't get ruined in the console->handheld conversion.

It doesn't sound like you've ever played Okami.

Jeebus, graphics whores stfu. The DS owns Japan, therefore most titles in Japan will be announced for it. It's not 2004 anymore, you should know this by now and be able to come to terms with reality.

Second of all, this is Okami we're talking about. It didn't exactly set the sales charts on fire and yet people are whning about how Capcom isn't dumping a whole lot more on this "franchise" by putting it on expensive hardware where it would most likely not make a profit. Knowing Capcom it the decision was probably Okamiden for DS or nothing at all.

Okami was critically acclaimed but was not a sales success and Clover was shut down. The game that shouldn't have gotten a sequel did, and yet all people can do is whine that it's not on their platform of choice, that the graphics aren't good enough or that the DS is 'hindering' a game designed for it from the start...

We all know it's the best decision financially. That doesn't mean we can't be disappointed, especially after getting our hopes up with all the rumors.

You said it yourself, this is Okami we're talking about. Okami would be nothing without its graphics.

What I said in the other thread:

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO WANT!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully not a port, though I would still buy it. (:(:(:(:(:

What I said in the other thread:

Can't a port. Even if the original game was made, it would be a conversion. You can't port to a significantly less powerful system.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

The game wouldn't have been on the HD systems anyway. Dead Rising likely wouldn't even have been on them if the first game hadn't already been a hit. There is just too much money required to spend for them to have a game of Okami's scale that diverges from the main HD gaming market as Okami does,
