What the hell? Not at this announcement, at some of the people here. They're not going to make games with Wolverine in a tutu or whatever people here are saying. Disney just recognizes Marvel as a successful company. I assume this would give Disney control of successful film IPs by Marvel such as Iron Man, X-Men, and (blecch) Fantastic Four. Oh, and did I mention ****ING SPIDERMAN? That too. They'd also probably receive royalties on these games.

Disney just wants money, they don't want to ruin your childhood memories. In fact, Disney is your childhood.

I hope you're kidding, becasue why in the world would they pick Zac Efron as Spider-Man?  Because girl will want to see Spiderman?  Frist off...Sony holds the right to Spider-Man, and they have the right to never ending sequels, IF they pay the fee to Marvel (Disney)...considering that Spiderman is Sony's holy grail...and Disney has no recourse to get the rights back unless Sony doesn't pay the fee (Approx $5 mil) in the alloted time to re-up the sequel...I see this as highly unlikely.

Guys...it's not the end of the world..Pixar didn't stop being Pixar (although it was more a merge with them, rather than an buyout), and I'm sure Marvel isn't to stop being Marvel.  The mgmt team at Marvel is VERY conservative...believe me, I've lsiten in on countless qrtrly CC...there's not going to be Mickey-Wolverine team-ups!

No coincidence there...Disney has Fox and Sony by the balls...if they don't make new films, they lose the rights. If Fox keeps putting out crap...and they keep losing money...they are going to have to drop the rights...so Fox had better put out better movies.

Disney knows how to sell a movie to a global audience. This deal has the potential to be really good. There might even be some good games from this. Mickey + squall + cloud would have sounded stupid before kingdom hearts proved that otherwise
