yea 7% over just a few days.  It's an extremely small sample though I wouldn't think much of it.

Yeah, I don't think that's the failure rate at all. I was directing my comments towards the people who were claiming this proves the slims have a higher failure rate.

My ps3 slim actually runs a LOT COOLER than my launch 60 GB....there is no comparison when you feel the ps3 and around it.  My 60 GB definitely puts out more heat.

of course it does its 45nm and nicer fan!.

It should be producing less heat... it draws less current.  The question is really more about how the heat is dissapated, etc.
